A Message From The President

Dear Member,

I am incredibly honored and proud to serve as your 2023-2024 Martin County Bar Association President. This year’s theme is Engagement. Your MCBA Board of Directors has already begun working hard to bring our members an engaging year. I am asking our members to engage in our bar association by considering being a sponsor, by attending our CLE luncheons, by attending a social event, and/or by being involved with an MCBA committee. The MCBA only thrives when YOU are engaged!

Of course, by now, you have probably heard the news that the MCBA has a new Executive Director. Lynne Poirier will take the helm of the MCBA effective July 11. Lynne joins the MCBA after 23 years as the Communications Director of the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Please come to one of our upcoming events and introduce yourself to Lynne. Let’s make her feel welcome!

I am happy to announce that our monthly CLE luncheons will continue to be held at Monarch Country Club. This year we will launch the “President’s Speaker Series” at our CLE luncheons. The “President’s Speaker Series” consists of many engaging and compelling speakers on a range of interesting topics. These guest speakers are brought to us through the support of some generous sponsors! Contact Lynne Poirier to find out how you, or your firm, can be in the spotlight as a sponsor of the speaker series.

Thank you to past President, Jeffrey Friedman, for a wonderful year of stewardship and highlighting the issue of mental health within the legal profession.

As always, our members will enjoy 8 monthly CLE luncheons, 30+ committees, our monthly newsletter and a variety of social events such as the annual Fall Judicial Reception, 5K Run, Golf & Tennis tournaments, networking events, and the Annual Banquet.
